Quintessentially British, this old fashioned, yet extremely progressive, light-hearted mystery, should be read wearing sunglasses while eating red herring flavoured ice cream.
When seasonal ice cream man Frankie Flake is found dead inside his van in the run up to Easter, the village’s committee depend on go-to person, Tony Martini and a group of likeable characters to solve the mystery. Secrets are unearthed and motives start piling up but when the truth is revealed everyone is shocked by the outcome.
This old fashioned, yet extremely progressive, light hearted mystery, follows a group of likeable characters as they snoop around their beloved, all inclusive seaside village of Rosegarden, trying to find out who killed seasonal ice cream man, Frankie Flake.
Set in a fictional seaside village that is harmoniously multi-cultural, liberal about sexuality and egalitarian by design, this book is mainly about the murder and it’s investigation by the village’s go-to person, Tony Martini, but it is also about how we see others and the way in which we wish to be seen, as well as how people judge others based on pre-conceived ideas.
