Author Bio:
Maggie Ranald was born, raised and lives in the UK. ‘Why Do THAT?’ is her first book – a memoir of her life and careers, which spans six decades. After a few mistaken attempts to ‘do the appropriate job’, she veered from the expected professional path assumed for her – that of being an engineer – and embarked on very different ones. Those paths took her into careers such as intensive aquaculture, commercial diving and the industrial world of subsea construction. At the time these industries were mostly worked by men. Maggie wanted the same jobs, seeing them as great career opportunities. She believes that there are no limits to what people can achieve, if they are prepared to make sacrifices.
Now away from that intense arena of work, she seeks a more peaceful life. That peace is found in simple pleasures, such as hiking and watching wildlife, as well as using that quiet time to work on new book ideas.
