About William Faulkner’s Cannibal Holocaust and Other Stories
a Venn diagram of history and popular culture with genres including science fiction, horror, speculative, and more. These stories result from imagining what would happen if a few variables of the formula were tweaked. What would Snow White include if David Cronenberg wrote it? What would William Faulkner’s adaptation of Heart of Darkness resemble? If Ingmar Bergman had the opportunity to helm a film about The Four Horsemen of The Apocalypse, what musicians would feature on the soundtrack? Which actor is best personified by field artillery? Were perceived enemies of the state imprisoned underground beneath the ring during The Rumble in the Jungle? These and other scenarios are analyzed in this collection.
