About With Rocks and Stones and Trees by Erol Rashit
Free pre-Christmas promotion: December 20 to 23, 2022.
Images exploring the extraordinary in the ordinary, and the spaciotemporal limitations of romantic beauty: meditations on the nature of existence.
The title of the collection derives from the last line of a poem by William Wordsworth:
A slumber did my spirit seal;
I had no human fears:
She seemed a thing that could not feel
The touch of earthly years.
No motion has she now, no force;
She neither hears nor sees;
Rolled round in earth’s diurnal course,
With rocks, and stones, and trees.

Author Bio:
Erol Rashit was born in London. He studied ecology at the University of Liverpool and obtained a PhD from the University of London for research into the effects of environmental fluctuations on species diversity. During a period as a photographic artist, he had several solo exhibitions, but these generated little in the way of income. Eventually, he resorted to paid employment, qualified as an accountant and for several years held the post of chief accountant at Imperial College. Having made enough money to fund his future (modest) requirements, he withdrew from the “rat race” in his mid-forties in order to concentrate on his main interest: techniques for examining the illusion of the “ghost in the machine” and for tracing consciousness back to its true source.
