Tell us about yourself and how many books you have written.
I am an En-Jp/Jp-En translator. I have translated many articles and books for National Geographic as a staff translator. My best-known work is a book called “Manshu kiseki no dasshutsu”, the Japanese rendition of “Escape from Manchuria” by Paul K. Maruyama, which was dramatized and aired on NHK TV in March 2018. Currently I am committed to introducing Japanese non-fiction to the world through translation.
What is the name of your latest book and what inspired it?
My latest work is “Sixteen Stranded on a Desert Island”, which is an English translation of a long-running non-fiction bestseller in Japan.
If you were going to be stranded on a desert island and allowed to take 3 or 4 books with you what books would you bring?
Of course, I would bring “Sixteen Stranded on a Desert Island”! That’s for sure 🙂
