Interview With Author Zahra Habib
Tell us about yourself and how many books you have written.
I’m a published author, poet, and novelist whose work explores themes of resilience, empowerment, and the often-hidden complexities of personal struggle. My passion for writing began with poetry at the age of 9.
What is the name of your latest book and what inspired it?
The Trust Fall: When Common Sense Takes a Nosedive. I had the most terrible experience of falling in love with a sociopath – and many years after the divorce, i realised hey, he fooled me… so there must be many like me who are getting fooled by the many red-flag holders out there, so why write a book and warn them.
Do you have any unusual writing habits?
yes, i write books, and then i just stop and give a gap for a few years…. i find that odd.
What authors, or books have influenced you?
well harry potter, sweet dreams… yep! and the love stories books by randomhouse, i think. i liked betty neels and jessica hart.
What are you working on now?
im working on 3 books – one is serious and i have already rewritten its direction twice. Not sure if i’m ever going to publish it. Another is a romance but the kind where you get the person and also let them go because that better for them. Third is a self help, or a guide through uncertainty. i’m exploring how kindness can become a modern surviving tool.
What is your best method or website when it comes to promoting your books?
mybookcave was the better of the rest i tried back in 2021 – now im not sure.
Do you have any advice for new authors?
nah, not really – but if you are planning to become an author, just remember its hard to get the awareness out. its not impossible, but it requires you to have a fuller pocker than an empty one.
What is the best advice you have ever heard?
i read it off of a wall in my city, it was “jo khamosh raha usne nijaat paii” roughly translating to, you get away with a lot just by staying quiet in the moment
What are you reading now?
uh… its a course book in Psychology, Behaviour Problems in Young Children
What’s next for you as a writer?
the third book i guess, i’m also a business writer so i’m left with very little time to focus on my passion for books.
If you were going to be stranded on a desert island and allowed to take 3 or 4 books with you what books would you bring?
i’d go for harry potter series, the last 4.
