Tell us about yourself and how many books you have written.
This is my first official book.
What is the name of your latest book and what inspired it?
The Power of HypnoBirthing: My Pregnancy and Empowering Natural Birth story and How It Can Help You. Six weeks after giving birth to my daughter in January 2019 using HypnoBrthing, I had this insane desire to start writing. So every night after putting my daughter to sleep, I would write my story and relive my experience. I never wanted to forget and I thought it could be such a good resource for other women. I wanted to give first-time moms a new positive narrative around pregnancy and birthing. My experience was so amazing, I wanted to inspire and share this positive story. I also had amazing practical tips that I used that I thought would be super helpful as well.
Do you have any unusual writing habits?
I write when I feel called to; when something drops into my mind and spirit I go and I write and it just flows. I love to meditate also and clear my mind to focus on what I also want to say and be told. I also am very discipline and schedule at least half an hour a day for writing.
What authors, or books have influenced you?
I am a keen reader and I love down to earth and funny self-help books. Some of my favorites are Denise Duffield-Thomas- Get Rich Lucky Bitch and Chillpreneur. I also loved Jen Sencerio- You’re a Badass at making money.
What are you working on now?
I’m currently working on a HypnoBirthing Journal to help along with the HypnoBirthing course that is offered.
My next step is to do some digital courses around pregnancy and Hypnobirthing support.
What is your best method or website when it comes to promoting your books?
I use my social media a lot:
Facebook, Instagram and LinkedIn @zannybdavis
Do you have any advice for new authors?
Definitely go with what feels right to you, journal out those fears and know you are worthy of having a best selling book and then get to writing.
What is the best advice you have ever heard?
Be reminded of your worth and know you can have all of your desires.
What are you reading now?
I am reading a new book from a friend of mine. Love is the Law by Marieta Oslenac.
What’s next for you as a writer?
I am working on a HypnoBirthing Journal for my community. It’s a journal to help along with the HypnoBirthing practice for better results during your pregnancy, birthing, and new motherhood journey.
If you were going to be stranded on a desert island and allowed to take 3 or 4 books with you what books would you bring?
My favorites from above and maybe non-fiction. I used to love to read funny romantic comedies. Marian Keynes for example.
