Tell us about yourself and how many books you have written.
I’ve been a romance author since 2009 and currently have over 30 published novel, shorts, and novellas. I also have over 20 audiobooks for fans like me of that format.
What is the name of your latest book and what inspired it?
My upcoming release is titled, Mate Run: Pia. I’m a huge fan of science fiction futuristic romances. My heroine is a hospital worker who is nearing retirement and decides it’s past time she focused on love and marriage. To do so, she visits a matchmaking agency. In my world, humanity has been divided into two factions: infected and noninfected. The idea of this story came to me in 2019, before Covid. It’s interesting how life imitates fiction.
Do you have any unusual writing habits?
I’m totally emo when it comes to writing. I have to be in the right head space emotionally before I can write. This means any bit of stress can negatively impact my writing habits.
What authors, or books have influenced you?
I’ve been a romance reader since the age of 13. All of the early romance writers who are still in the game, like Jayne Anne Krentz and many others, have had an influence. I pull a little bit of writing technique from many books, styles, and authors.
What are you working on now?
I’m currently working on book two of my Mate Run series: Cherise. She’s one of the infected, hiding among the noninfected. As a hunted woman, seeking a mate among the infected is risky, but she’s tired of being alone.
What is your best method or website when it comes to promoting your books?
LOL, like most authors, I’m still learning this promotion thing. I can’t say I have a best method but my goal is to become proficient in marketing.
Do you have any advice for new authors?
Write what you love. Don’t chase money or approval. If you love what you do, you’ll keep at it when the negative reviews come or the books don’t earn as much as you hoped.
What is the best advice you have ever heard?
Your best promotion is your next book.
What are you reading now?
I’m listening to Wait for It by Mariana Zappatta and Shadow Blade by J. C. Daniels.
What’s next for you as a writer?
Translation of my book catalogue into Spanish. Last month I had my short, Illicit Attraction, translated. My goal is to get at least 10 more translated this year.
If you were going to be stranded on a desert island and allowed to take 3 or 4 books with you what books would you bring?
I’d totally cheat. I’d get a solar powered battery charger and bring my iPad or Nook which are loaded with hundreds of titles. This way I won’t be limited to just a few.
