My name is Cliff, and I like to write non-fiction ebooks about topics that really interest me. Specifically autograph collecting, the paranormal, and crime.

What is the name of your latest book and what inspired it?
My latest book is,
Autograph Collecting 101: How To Collect Autographs Through The Mail

It’s a how-to ebook where I talk about how I’ve been able to get more than 1,000 autographs, either for free or just the cost of stamps by requesting them online, and through the mail. I also share some interesting experiences that I’ve had along the way.

I’ve gotten autographs from all different kinds of people like athletes, actors, authors, politicians and even from people such as military veterans and criminals. I think of each autograph as being a piece of history. When it comes to autograph collecting, the possibilities are endless!

Do you have any unusual writing habits?
I always work on more than one book at a time, that’s just how my mind works. It’s good because when I get “writers block”, I can work on another book for a while then go back to the other one, and look at it from a different perspective. It helps.

What are you working on now?
I’m currently working on two books at the moment. One is almost finished, it’s a collection of 20 paranormal stories from around the world.

The other book is about a guy that had a wife, kids, everything. Now after a couple of bad choices, and dead bodies later, he’s in prison and never getting out alive. Not every monster is born a monster, they don’t all drift from town to town in a creeper van. Sometimes they’re the nice guy that lives next door! I’m excited about writing that book because there’s so much to it.

What is the best advice you have ever heard?
“When you write a story, you’re telling yourself the story. When you rewrite, your main job is taking out all the things that are not the story. Your stuff starts out being just for you, but then it goes out.”

Tell us about yourself and how many books you have written.
My name is Micah and I was an actor in High School who became an English Major in College. I have written 6 books so far in this series and the first one is coming out June 30th.

What is the name of your latest book and what inspired it?
Book series is called Into the Rabbit Hole and goes into a pretty big rabbit hole of religion, secret societies, hidden information from the public, and a Bible code written in Astrology and Astronomy that permeates through the series. This is the greatest secret hidden from mankind. I was inspired to write it when I first discovered it 7 years ago and realized it had to be made a book series.

Do you have any unusual writing habits?
My main character is a functioning alcoholic and when I write his monologues, I have a 6-12 pack beforehand to get in the character. Guess I’m a bit of a “method” writer. Also, most of the humor in my series comes from conversations I have with my girlfriends at the bar.

What authors, or books have influenced you?
Paul Auster’s The New York Trilogy was one. I liked the mental illness of the main character. I also like the Rule of Four which showed me how to take a story and embed another story within the first story. And of course, Dan Brown’s works. My books are heavily influenced by his anagrams and cryptograms and Boston setting.

What are you working on now?
Currently, I’m working on your interview. 🙂 Besides that, I’m just editing my books. My Publisher is releasing one every 3 months, so my 6 book series will be out in 18 months. Lots to do.

What is your best method or website when it comes to promoting your books?

Do you have any advice for new authors?
My books are unlike anything that’s ever been written before. I’ve put my whole life’s knowledge base and heart into each one. I always knew this was a series that was going to take off. I kept every single rejection letter both From Agents and Publishers. It’s in the 300’s. If you believe in your story, don’t EVER give up. From the first word, I typed to my Publishers release of my first novel will be almost 7 years to the date.

What is the best advice you have ever heard?
Don’t ever give up. And make your voice unique all to yourself. Don’t be the next Dan Brown, be the first Micah Dank.

What are you reading now?
I’m reading books on alchemy, astrology, the Bible, secret societies. I tend to read about 4 hours a day and if I find something interesting, I write it down for my next book.

What’s next for you as a writer?
Lots of Publicity. Lots of author networking. The Author community is very tight-knit and very supportive of one another. Just networking and planning a “possible” 7th book.

If you were going to be stranded on a desert island and allowed to take 3 or 4 books with you what books would you bring?
’d bring my series. Not only is there a fluid storyline, but I’ve also encoded each book to have hidden messages in them. Easter Eggs if you will. Also my books very deliberately blur the lines of our world reality and fiction.

Tell us about yourself and how many books you have written.
My name is Leon Edwards and my background is an accountant specialising in tax as well as preparing accounts.
I have been an accountant for 21 years now dealing with small businesses.

I became an author when I turned forty years of age and looked back at what I have always wanted to achieve.
Weirdly enough, becoming an author was not high on my agenda. I actually had dreams of becoming an actor when I was five. This carried on till I reached fifteen and thought I was kidding myself.
I mulled over getting into acting again when I turned thirty and looked into it. But knocked it on the head.
I then turned forty and looked into it and this time went on a taster course. After a few weeks of deliberating, I decided not to go ahead. I thought about the long unsociable hours and missing my newly wife.

Throughout the whole idea of becoming an actor, I developed lots of story ideas in my head and already created a beginning, middle and end. I imagined becoming a writer for the silver screen and making my own movie with my stories already established inside my head.
So after turning forty and coming to the realisation of not acting, I had a light bulb moment. Why don’t I put my story ideas to paper and pen, in my case a laptop.

I had to mull over which story to write first and the one that will get me buzzing while writing the story.
I did not want to be one of those people who say I am going to do a bungee jump, travel the world and never do it. End up in my sixties at the pub and telling people I could have been an author but I couldn’t find the time.
So my first story that I had mulling in my mind for about three or four years was a female spy character. I based the character on James Bond of course but stripped out the wooden features. Don’t get me wrong, I love all the James Bond films but I wanted the emotions to come out. So when the latest actor came along and showed those emotions, I felt about time.
I also wanted the character to be vulnerable and not strong and indestructible. I wanted the villain to have to be a physio path rather than just a bad guy wanting to kill everything insight.
So my first book was ‘Jane Knight Rogue Officer’. Since completing my first book, I have now written six to date. They are Blind Love, Eternity Wing And A Pray, Jane Knight Fair Game, To The Stars and Ponta Delgada A Good Place To Die.

What is the name of your latest book and what inspired it?
The latest books I have written are the last two I named. They are To The Stars and Ponta Delgada A Good Place To Die.
My inspirations for the last two books and indeed all six comes from watching loads of movies. I am a movie buff. My favourite of all time is Star Wars saga. I have no idea why. I am not like a trekkie fan that goes to conventions dress as their favourite character. I would say it was the technology of its time.
So going back to the last two books, To The Stars is based on a film that starred Dakota Fanning called ‘Now Would Be Good.’ I have no idea if it was based on a novel or a screen writer. I went with my now wife to see it and we cried together when getting back to the car. We were surprised how much it touched us.
So I would say that film inspired me to write To The Stars telling the story from a character who is ordinary. You would not pick her out from the crowd.
The second most recent book is Ponta Delgada A Good Place To Die. My inspiration of the location is from a Alfred Hitchcock Film called To Catch A Thief and the mission impossible films.
I wanted to have a mission impossible theme that deals with a snippet of how ruthless drug cartels are. Then having the main plot to try to stop a poisonous drug from entering the drug trade that can potentially kill millions because of its mass production factory.

Do you have any unusual writing habits?
My unusual writing habit is now writing two books together, back to back. I like to make sure they are completely different genres so not get bogged down with the same theme.
I have to make sure a chapter is finished before I stop writing for the day. I have a bug bear of a half finished chapter.
My chapters have to be within a number of words to feel satisfied that I have written a good chapter. Some times I have written enough content but falls below my word limit. I just live with it so long as I am happy with the content.
My other writing habit is changing the plot slightly and having no idea which chapters are affected. Also I get the continuity issue that my proof reader and editor reminds me each time. But it is a safe net like how I prepare my accountancy work.

What authors, or books have influenced you?
I do not have a book that influences me as I love films and it is that, that influences my plots. However I do have a favourite author who’s name I can never remember. His name is Harlan Coben. I have only read about four of his books. His writing reminds me of movies and so that is why I like his work.
It is interesting as some of his style of writing I am not used to but overall I like his plots and how the stories unfold. My older sister got me into his books as we have similar likes.
I had not heard of him at all before that. The book that stands out is ‘Tell No One’ and ‘Just One Look’.
When I am retired from accountancy, I will read all his books.

What are you working on now?
I am currently working on two more books. A crime thriller based on a unsolved disappearance The second book is about a young woman in her twenties who accidentally falls into a boxing career without actually knowing.

What is your best method or website when it comes to promoting your books?
I am still struggling. Of course it is Awesome Gang. I have tried Written Word Media and Book Raid. I am still dipping my toe into various ways to make my work known. I am glad that I am writing because I love it than for the money and recognition. Because I would have given up after my first book.
The real struggle of advertising is pigeon holing your work. My books are based on emotions and facing adversity. I write these in various genres except horror and paranormal/ fantasy. So my books could fit in more than genre. It is finding the right genre to advertise for.

Do you have any advice for new authors?
The best advice I can say for new authors is write from your heart. Not your head. If you write from your head, you will chase the money and your art will get lost.
I have found from experience being a self employed accountant is that the money came last. I crafted my work and found ways of streamlining my accountancy process. Once I got this right, the recognition from word of mouth came and the money then followed.
Anyone can write a great story if it comes from the heart and wanting to bear your sole on paper, for everyone to see.

What is the best advice you have ever heard?
I have never had a good advice from anyone. I never did when getting into accountancy. But one advice I had was be yourself and try not to be someone your not. People will see through that.
Show your personality and people will love how you work and understand your novels.

What are you reading now?
I am currently not reading as I am scared that I will read a really good story plot and accidentally copy it for myself. Then get sued. I find that if I read a good book, it will effect my story telling and fall in the trap of copying some else’s style and lose my own.
Films never seem to effect my writing as they are not my themes in relating to my work. When I read a book, they then to be the books I want to write.
However, I am in the process of getting into audio books. Have bought a Kindle and so want to listen to my books in the background. Music is getting boring now.

What’s next for you as a writer?
I am in the process of doing an overhaul of my website. It happened to coincide with my current supplier closing his business. So have found another person who also does my book covers. Hoping it will be more engaging, including a blogger section.
I am still no where near to giving up accountancy and so continuing with this until the right time comes along.

If you were going to be stranded on a desert island and allowed to take 3 or 4 books with you what books would you bring?
If I was stranded on an island, I would bring a solar powered tablet, if you could find one. Then have all of Harlan Coben books on them.
I would start with ‘One False Move’, ‘Hold Tight’ and ‘The Boy From The Woods’.

Under the name Pete Aldin, I’ve authored the Doomsday’s Child series of post-apocalyptic stories set in Australia, along with a werewolf novel Black Marks (also available on iTunes and Audible). Fifteen years ago, I wrote for several parenting magazines including Kindred and Natural Parenting, but now I’m devoted solely to fiction.

What is the name of your latest book and what inspired it?
Eventide is the first of a long series of space opera / military scifi I’ve been working on for a long time. The book was inspired by the fight for indigenous land rights (and human rights) around the world, along with the entitlement that continually drives wealthy nations to war and abuse. (Phew! That got dark quick!).

Do you have any unusual writing habits?
Two pretty simple ones.
When I’m creating new content, I listen to movie/game soundtracks.
When I’m editing/polishing existing content, the music gets turned off.

What authors, or books have influenced you?
David Morrell (if you’ve never read the novel First Blood, you need to).
Martin Cruz Smith (the first three of his Arkady Renko are my favourite crime novels of all time)

Finish stuff. Polish stuff. Get connected to a wide group of other authors to critique it (and freeze out the disrespectful ones from your network early — life’s too short).

Michael Stackpole: “You’ll learn more by finishing the first draft of 20 chapters than will by writing 20 drafts of your first chapter”

Hey there, I’m Erynn, author of Spirit of the Dragon and the upcoming The Dragon’s Eye, which are both a part of the Yokai Calling series. I love history and anthropology and pass most of my time typing away at my next book, or with my nose stuffed in one! You’ll usually find me in my office with a cup of tea (one flavour from my obsessive collection) and surrounded by my Squishmallow army.

What is the name of your latest book and what inspired it?
My upcoming book (June 30th, 2020) is titled The Dragon’s Eye. It follows the events after those in The Dragon’s Eye, all of which takes place in an epic fantasy world inspired by Japanese mythology and folklore. This book follows the same track of inspiration as the first book in the series: I originally set out to write a different series but became fixated on a different set of details, so I ended up writing these books instead. I’ll revisit my other ideas next year, I hope. 🙂

Do you have any unusual writing habits?
Not unusual, perhaps, but I find that I’m a bit of a night owl when it comes to writing… I’m the most productive, perhaps, during the day, but I find that a lot my best stuff comes out during the late hours of the night or in the early am’s.

What are you working on now?
I’m wrapping up some minor edits to the final version of The Dragon’s Eye, and then I’ll be moving on to book 3 in the series. I’m planning to finish the series entirely by the end of fall!

Do you have any advice for new authors?
It’s cliche, but never give up. Success (in whatever form you value) often comes to those who are relentless.

What are you reading now?
Currently reading The Left Hand of Darkness by Ursula K. Le Guin with my book club! We’ve only just started, but it’s a fantastic book so far.

What’s next for you as a writer?
The sky’s the limit, really. After I finish my current series I’ll move on to the next, which I plan to take place five years after the end of my current work in progress. Between then and now, who knows? I have lots of ideas and plans that need attention. 🙂

I am a retired pharmacist with 42 years of experience in retail pharmacy. My wife, Kitty, and I have three children and six grandchildren. We have had the pleasure of living in several Texas cities as well as Richmond and Lynchburg, VA. We have vacationed on two ocean cruises, London, France, Tokyo, and several cities across the United States. We have also participated in two mission trips, once to Calli, Columbia, and Bantoom, and Bangkok, Thailand.

I published my first book, The Prophet’s Secret in 2016 with Tate Publishing, which has since gone out of business and republished the book in 2020 with Kindle Direct. I am currently writing a sequel to The Prophet’s Secret, but have yet decided upon a title.

What is the name of your latest book and what inspired it?
My latest, and only book, is The Prophet’s Secret. My original idea occurred to me when I read mention in the book of Maccabees in the Books of the Apocrypha about a letter written by Jeremiah the prophet and sent to the Jewish exiles in Babylon telling them that he had hidden the original Tabernacle and its worship articles in a cave on the mountain where Moses stood and looked out over the Promised Land.

I loved the movie, Raider of the Lost Ark, but I did not want to copy the adventure and I wanted to include the prophetic implications of such a discovery. I also wanted to explain the meaning of several prophetic mentions in the Bible. Thus, The Prophet’s Secret was born.

Do you have any unusual writing habits?
I don’t believe my writing habits are the least bit unusual. As I write, my characters and the story seem to come alive for me and the storyline just seems to flow of its own volition. When that flow begins to wane, I stumble and must recapture the natural reactions of the characters.

What authors, or books have influenced you?
While I’ve discontinued reading Stephen King, because of his use of profanity in his current writings, his style, and character development was a mighty influence. The Thoene’s and their use of biblical scenarios to extrapolate an interconnected storyline is also a great influence.

What are you working on now?
I am currently working on a sequel to The Prophet’s Secret, as yet untitled. At the moment, the flow of the storyline is stumbling along.

What is your best method or website when it comes to promoting your books?
To be honest, I haven’t had much luck with any website. Personal contact and book signings at libraries has served me best.

Do you have any advice for new authors?
My best advice is to be very careful in choosing a publisher. Check them out for complaints and success stories. Tate Publishing was a disaster because the owners began to retain royalties for deposit into their personal accounts and the company provided virtually no promotional services. They have since been prosecuted by the Oklahoma Attorney General’s office and received a very favorable sentence for themselves.

What is the best advice you have ever heard?
John D. MacDonald once wrote, “If you really want to be a writer, then write.” Mrs. Miller, my freshman English teacher at Del Mar College, told us that every slaughtered syllable is a deed well done. In other words, don’t be superfluous.

What are you reading now?
Currently, I am reading The Desiderata Stone (The Blind Sleuth Mysteries Book 7) by Nick Aaron. It’s a departure from the usual for me since it uses a dual setting, ancient Rome, and current-day Rome. The main characters are either blind or deaf. It’s interesting.

What’s next for you as a writer?
Currently, I will finish the sequel to The Prophet’s Secret. After publishing that book I will put in a lot of effort to find a new inspiration. I am also facing a move from Fredericksburg, TX to, hopefully, Wimberly, TX.

If you were going to be stranded on a desert island and allowed to take 3 or 4 books with you what books would you bring?
My first choice of a book would be the Bible. The Bible has influenced more literature and teaching that any book in history. Almost every book ever written contains some element of the Bible. Secondly, I would choose a comprehensive Bible dictionary and concordance. The God Portal by Tim Ferguson is one of my all-time favorites with time travel and the idea of meeting Jesus fascinates me.

Hi! I’m Doctor Joanne Reid, a retired collegiate educator, scientist, entrepreneur and computer geek. I spent my early career in analytical chemistry. That’s the science that answers two questions: What is it?; How much is there?
After twenty years in the lab, I went into sales of analytical instruments such as (ready for this?) Infrared spectrophotomers, atomic absorption spectrometers and stuff like that.
After ten years in sales, I started my own company selling computer-aided design systems based on AutoCAD. I also taught AutoCAD for more than 30 years at community colleges.
After a while, I lost my cutting edge and went back to school where I picked up a Master of Science and and a Doctorate in Education.
Over the years, I’ve written many books, scientific papers and publications in professional journals. including more than twenty research papers in the areas of critical thinking and cognition. I wrote a brief history of ancient Scotland called Caledonian Chronicles. I published Jihad: World War in 2036, Oil Commission and Lake Aral, the World Union techno-thriller trilogy. Gilraën and the Prophecy is my first venture into Gamelit epic fantasy.
Joanne is married to her partner of forty-three years, who is a retired college professor. They refer to themselves as the Pair-A-Docs.

What is the name of your latest book and what inspired it?
My latest book is Gilraen and the Prophecy Trilogy, a book set including I Came, I Saw and I Conquered.
I’m editing the first book of the four-book series named Return of the Queen, a continuation of the Gilraen and the Prophecy series.

Do you have any unusual writing habits?
I’m a unstructured writer. That is, I don’t do outlines or anything formal. I do have a mental image and basic plan for the book and the series. I know where it starts and where I want it to go. I have a basic idea of who is doing what. At the same time, I’m not locked into a plan or outline, so if something arises, I can add a character, change a venue, or make other changes. I don’t advise this technique to most people, because it could lead to writer’s block or panic. Instead, I plug along with the story, envisioning it as I trudge along. Later, when I’m editing, I can change details, introduce entire chapters and do other things I should have done or undo things I should not have done.

What authors, or books have influenced you?
I’ve always been and avid reader of everything from cereal boxes to the thirty plus volume “History of the United States Navy i World War II.”
However, the Gilraen series is influenced by Tolkien’s Lord of the Rings and Paolini’s Heritage Series.

What are you working on now?
In the Gilraen and the Prophecy trilogy, Gilraen returns to her previous life.
Of course, it can’t be left there. So, she returns to fulfill her destiny and to overcome the evil Adjudicars. So far, this series is four books of more than 400,000 words!
And, that’s not the end. As part of this series, Gilraen gets additional insight into the origins and intentions of the Adjudicars. This will be the subject of the next series.
And then,…. Well, we’ll all have to wait on that.

What is your best method or website when it comes to promoting your books?
Frankly, I don’t have a good one. I’ve tried Amazon’s AMS, spent a lot of money and got nothing from it. I’ve tried BookBub, but got nothing. So, I’m exhausting Facebook sites. If it’s about books, I’m a active member. I post once a week on each site and I’m scrupulous about answering all comments on my posts. I think my open, friendly and humorous replies are a big part of my marketing.

Do you have any advice for new authors?
First and foremost, you have to be able to write an engaging and readable story. The whole thing is the story. If you can’t tell a gripping and engaging story, you can’t write one either.
To learn what a story is, you must read, the Read, the READ! There are thousands of great stories out there in every genre. You have to know and understand that genre and who reads those kinds of books if you are to be successful.
Finally, show, don’t tell. People can ‘observe’ others doing things and place themselves in the character’s position. Telling readers what’s going on is boring! That’s part of the art of telling a story.

What is the best advice you have ever heard?
Show, don’t tell. I’m a researcher. Writing for technical journals is exacting, precise and boring! When I write novels, I put myself into the character and show the reader what I’m doing, what I’m thinking or feeling, my worries and joys,

Argh! Three or four? My personal library is more than 6,000 books!
I’d probably take compilations, such as ‘The Plays of William Shakespeare”, “The Works of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle”, and the works of Agatha Christie. I realize that’s cheating, but I’m a writer, so it’s just author’s license.

Lisa P. Turner, Sc.D.
Lisa grew up taking things apart and playing with the boys. After graduating from college, she started a bicycle shop, attended night school for an engineering degree, and took on odd jobs in residential and commercial construction.
In 2006, Lisa started Your Achievement Coach, a coaching and teaching practice that focused on delivering planning skills to people wanting to reach their goals. Lisa has worked for 3 major U.S. corporations at the executive level, most notably as Chief Training Officer for Tyco Fire and Security Services, a $10B public corporation in Boca Raton, Florida. She was certified as an ASQ Six Sigma Black Belt and Quality Engineer; she holds a 50-ton coast guard captain’s license, and is a licensed building contractor. Lisa was a volunteer in the United States Coast Guard Auxiliary for 15 years.

In Team Steps Guide to Problem Solving, her first business management book (2015, Turner Creek), Lisa reveals the shortcuts that work to solve problems on the production floor – and in life itself. In her career as a manufacturing engineer, Lisa saved thousands of dollars that were being spent unnecessarily by eliminating waste in the manufacturing process.
Two years later, in House Keys – The Essential Homeowner’s Guide (2017, Turner Creek), Lisa took her principles into the area of home inspection. In her career as a home inspector and general contractor, she discovered and wrote about all the things that builders were missing or doing wrong in home construction. She goes on to build an airplane in her garage, flying the small airplane from Florida to Maine and back and reconciles with her family in the process.

Your Simplest Life: 15 Unconventional Time Management Shortcuts – Productivity Tips and Goal-Setting Tricks So You Can Find Time to Live. This book grew out of the last book, where I talked about picking the thing that are most important to do in your lefe and not let time rob you of your dream.

I wait for the writing to flow out. I don’t have a set schedule.

What authors, or books have influenced you?
Brian Tracy has heavily influenced my writing and my thinking. He is the “guru of personal achievement” in my opinion. Ken Atchity is also a favorite author, because he “breaks the rules.”

What are you working on now?
A biography of a local craftsman who restores antique aircraft.

What is your best method or website when it comes to promoting your books?
Get the word out. Call and write ALL your friends, even if you only have a few! Give books away and speak at the library. Don’t expect to MAKE money, expect to spend it. What you have created as an author leaves a legacy for others. Your reward in in their delight.

Do you have any advice for new authors?
Creative minds may not be detailed. You have got to be detailed and spend time getting your book exactly what it should be. Don’t settle for less.

What is the best advice you have ever heard?
We each have the choice to decide how we will perceive something. Recognize and use this personal power of choice. It will bring happiness and peace of mind.

What’s next for you as a writer?
The biography I am working on now, then a book of poetry; then a sequel to House Keys; then a children’s book.

I was born in Albania and now I live in the Netherlands. In my Bachelor, I studied Law and I have a Master in European Law. I am very passionate about law and justice.

What is the name of your latest book and what inspired it?
The name of my latest book is ‘The Signature’. This is a poetry book on which every poem is part of a whole story and gives a message. It was inspired by everything that was happening in my life and I was also seeing almost everyone experiencing them at the same time. I started the book with all the hard and difficult days we experience, days when we feel lonely and don’t want to leave our beds. The only way to go through hard times is to appreciate what you have, know your blessings in life and never give up. For this reason, I wrote about love, about people that love us the most and we love them back with the same powerful emotion. Then I wrote about loving yourself. A very important thing, which many people forget to do. Social media has so much impact on us. We try and want to be perfect, flawless but this are standards that society has created. We don’t have to follow those standards that make us hate our bodies, that way we look, and make us feel insecure. We are so lucky to be so unique. There is no such thing as perfect face, perfect body, perfect behavior. Why should there be perfection in every person? We are imperfect human beings and this make us perfect in our own way. We should’t let society decide about the way we should look. We decide it for ourselves. We will change the way the society sees us, when we change the way we see ourselves.
I was inspired by all those powerful women that are confident, that appreciate themselves. Inspired by those strong and powerful women that have desire and ambition and passion and know their worth. I wanted to make everyone understand that they are enough.
This is the truth.

I sit down and write when I feel inspired, never forcing myself to reach a word count. I write about things that are important to me and I know that are important to many other people. This is all I do, allowing my thoughts to flow and create a book sentence after sentence, page after page.

I read many self-help, and motivational books. There are many great books out there, but books that inspired me the most and changed my life and the way of thinking are:

3. The science of getting rich

For the time being, I am concentrated on ‘The Signature’ and what the readers will think about it, what impact it will have.
I have also created the main ideas about what my second book will be about. The second book is something I am very excited to write.

Having an audience, people that trust and want to support you is a great advantage on book promotion. However, personally, I didn’t have a big following when I published my book. Nevertheless, I did not allow this to stop me from publishing.
There are many great websites that will promote your book, especially if they like your work and the book is high quality. Having friends and family that support you also a great advantage.

Do you have any advice for new authors?
Don’t wait for the perfect time to start writing. Don’t tell yourself ‘I will start writing when…’
Do it now, you don’t have to wait for things to be a certain way to start writing.
Let me tell you something about my experience. When I started writing ‘The Signature’, I had no plan on publishing a book. I had many thoughts and feelings that needed to be said and written, so I did. As the time passed, I started to understand that I was creating a book, it was all a story, a message.
The perfect moment may never come if you wait, but if you start now, that will possibly be the perfect moment for you. Something you wouldn’t have discovered if you had not taken the courage to start.
Most importantly, write about something that excites you. Write about something you want other people to know.

What is the best advice you have ever heard?
Never wait to know all the answers before doing something. Start now, take the first step, and the path will show itself.

What are you reading now?
I am reading a book that has been on my reading list for a very long time: Rich dad, poor dad – Robert Kiyosaki

What’s next for you as a writer?
For my next book, I will continue my goal to inspire and motivate other people. I will write about the reality that we face everyday. About all the people and experiences that make us doubt ourselves. And I will show that in fact, these are not important. We don’t have to prove anything to anyone besides ourselves. I will continue writing about empowerment and self worth.

If you were going to be stranded on a desert island and allowed to take 3 or 4 books with you what books would you bring?
The fist book I would take with me is ‘The Adventures of Tom Sawyer’ – Mark Twain
This was one of the first books I ever read and I have read it many times. I have not counted the times I have read this book. I am full of nostalgia and since this book always entertains me, it will be a great companion to pass the long hours in that island.
The second book I would take with me is ‘Robinson Crusoe’ – Daniel Defoe since the main character in this book is also stranded in an island for many years and despite its dangers, he manages to survive. This book would give me hope that I could also survive by myself and escape.
The third book I would take with me is my book ‘The Signature’ since this book makes me feel so powerful. It’s a great motivation that shows that you can achieve anything and do everything that you want. I would really need that mindset and those lines if I would be going to be stranded on a deserted island.

My name is Sheyanne Warren. I am from Syracuse, NY but have lived in Charlotte, NC for 4 years. I am a middle school teacher of social studies and science. I am a bibliophile first and an author second!

I have two published works | The Jelena Cohert Series books 1 & 2. They are paranormal romantic crime suspense with a lead women of color – Hispanic. Jelena deals with real issues and struggles to navigate through her personal life; while being a kick ass FBI agent and often falling victim to her job in more ways than one.

What is the name of your latest book and what inspired it?
My latest book is not yet published. It is a prequel novella really diving into Jelena’s past and what makes her the person she is. It gives reads a chance to really root for Jelena and become connected to the characters I utilize often in the series.

My masters degree is in forensic psychology. Human behavior, especially criminal behavior has always fascinated me. That is where I was inspired to write crime novels. My main character is a person of color, as will all the characters in all the books I write. I feel like, people need to see people, especially women of color is different lights and broaching this topic with fictional works seems like a good start on how I change start to change that. Even though I am a black women I find it important that I write about multiple different cultures of color.

I don’t outline!

I know, I know but I have never been on to outline anything, even in college.

My all time favorite author is Cynthia Eden. My favorite author currently is Blake Pierce. I feel like my style is a mixture between those two with my culture twist.

I have 3 WIP. two are novella, the ones that highlight a main character in the series like I mentioned with my Jelena Cohert Character earlier.

I am also working on a YA fantasy novel.

My writing habit began at age fourteen. I always admired people like Benjamin Franklin, who had been practiced enough by age fourteen to write beautifully. I knew that I had a lot to improve upon. I’ve written five books in their initial form: The Antarctic Circle I, II, and III (with gobs of unplaced material and outlines for future novels); Narquelie Ravenmagic; and March, Forest. Because I was so young an inexperienced at novel-writing, I had to go back and rewrite The Antarctic Circle completely. I’m still working on it, and I plan to have seven or eight in the series.

What is the name of your latest book and what inspired it?
March, Forest is due to publish in September of 2020. The inspiration came from a dream I had of a fierce merwoman entering her forest palace by means of a giant slide.

Do you have any unusual writing habits?
Unusual… not really. Before my schedule was forcibly changed by adulthood, I used to get to the coffee shop by 5:00 PM and write until close at midnight. Then, I’d continue writing until 3:00 AM or later until I fell asleep.

What authors, or books have influenced you?
J. R. R. Tolkien, C. S. Lewis, George MacDonald, Gaston LeRoux, Victor Hugo, Brahm Stoker, Francine Rivers, and J. K. Rowling. I hated reading before Rowling.

What are you working on now?
March, Forest is still with my editor at the moment, so I’m focusing on writing the first draft of The Antarctic Circle: Romeniel, which is Book II of the series.

Book Funnel is super helpful when paired with Facebook. It allows people to see your ad on Facebook, then click over to download a free book or a paid book. Plus, it ensures they can get customer service assistance if they have issues downloading.

Also, Book Funnel does a ton of internal promos by letting authors pair up to share each other’s books.

Do you have any advice for new authors?
Write obsessively. If someone criticizes your work, treat that like gold. Most people won’t want to hurt your feelings, so they’ll avoid telling you your weaknesses. But as iron sharpens iron, so one man sharpens another. Listen to their criticism, reevaluate your work, and try rewriting. Just to see what happens. Whatever you do, don’t let criticism get you down. If you give up when faced with adversity, you’ll never succeed.

What is the best advice you have ever heard?
Write what you would like to read.

What are you reading now?
Forbidden by Ted Dekker and also The Fellowship of the Ring by J. R. R. Tolkien.

What’s next for you as a writer?
I have so many stories waiting to be written, it’s hard to be patient. I’m looking forward to co-authoring a book with my husband in the future.

Tell us about yourself and how many books you have written.
I’m Sandra Bats, living in Frankfurt, Germany with my husband and so far I published two novels in English, despite German being my mother tongue. Besides writing and reading I enjoy baking, drawing and going to the gym. I’m also a fan of storytelling in general, no matter the medium, so I watch a lot of TV and frequently go to movie theaters. Recently I’ve also started to learn about narrating and recording audiobooks with the hopes of turning my own novels into audiobooks soon.

What is the name of your latest book and what inspired it?
My latest novel, Persephone’s Grief, is a dystopian romance and the second novel in the Persephone’s Curse trilogy. While the first novel was inspired by the question of how a person can learn to trust despite past trauma, this novel hinges another question: How far would you go for the person you love?

Do you have any unusual writing habits?
I often get asked why I write in English despite German being my mother tongue. But I’ve always enjoyed the English language and when I spent a year abroad as a teen I even took a creative writing class in English. Ever since then I felt more at home using English in my writing, also because nearly all of my media consumption (TV Shows, Movies, Books, etc.) is happening in English.

Other than that I’m your average writer — conversing with my characters as if they’re real people and not just existing in my head. 😉

What authors, or books have influenced you?
I’d say the authors of my childhood — like Michael Ende or J.K.Rowling — have influenced me to become an avid reader and in turn to use my imagination frequently. I’ve also found S.E. Hinton and her novel The Outsiders very inspiring mainly due to the facts surrounding her being published while still in her teens and publishing under use of her initials so the novel wouldn’t be rejected for having been written by a woman.

What are you working on now?
Currently I’m working on the third installment in the Persephone’s Curse trilogy and also on an unrelated urban fantasy. For now neither of those works has a title yet. I already have one in mind for the next novel in the Persephone’s Curse trilogy but for now it’ll have to remain a secret.

What is your best method or website when it comes to promoting your books?
I spend a lot of energy on promoting my novels via Instagram. I enjoy getting to directly interact with the readers and not just have a pure selling relationship with them. It’s such a wonderful community on Instagram and you get to hear what readers enjoy and what topics really catch their attention. I think that kind of relationship with the community really is the best marketing tool.

Do you have any advice for new authors?
Don’t let the fear of failure stop you. There will be people telling you that this is just a hobby or that wanting to be a writer is a pipe dream. But if this is your dream — and I’m pretty sure if it is your dream you can feel it in every part of your heart — then go for it. It won’t be easy, it’ll be hard work — no matter if you go the self-publishing or the traditional route — but only if you try it you can find out if you can do it.

What is the best advice you have ever heard?
In regards to writing there’s two lines of advice that I find equally important. There is “You can’t edit a blank page” by Jodi Picoult and “The first draft is just you telling yourself the story” by Terry Pratchett.
As someone who tends to procrastinate out of fear of failure these are what actually gets me to write when I doubt myself. So when I fear that a story will turn out bad I tell myself that nobody but me will even get to see this very first draft and that I can always edit it to become better. It doesn’t have to be perfect or even good in the very first version.

What are you reading now?
I have a huge TBR pile but currently I’m reading Chain of Gold by Cassandra Clare. I like book series that enable me to stick with the characters for longer and so I’m also looking forward to Rage & Ruin by Jennifer L. Armentrout which is due to release soon. And I’m sure once I finished that I’ll have picked up even more new books to read instead of the ones already filling my bookshelves.

What’s next for you as a writer?
Well, the obvious one is writing more books. I’m working on the third installment in the Persephone’s Curse trilogy, and I’m also in the beginning stages of writing an urban fantasy novel.
And then I’m of course hoping to broaden my readership and I’m currently taking a step towards narrating my own audiobooks of Persephone’s Curse and Persephone’s Grief.

If you were going to be stranded on a desert island and allowed to take 3 or 4 books with you what books would you bring?
I’m a practical person so I’d definitely bring a survival book. Maybe something like 1000 Deadly Skills by Clint Emerson or a DIY Book like Making Stuff & Doing Things or something similar that would enable me to survive anything the deserted island might hold. I’d also bring an empty notebook to write down what was happening to me, because that would surely make for a great novel.
And I’d bring some heavy novel along that I hadn’t yet read. Probably fantasy or a paranormal story. Something I always wanted to read but had never had the time.
And lastly I’d bring a book on how to build a boat, for when I grow tired of being on the island. 😉

I’m Adam Rudny. I was born in Poland and currently live in Osaka, Japan.
A few years ago, I got extremely interested in areas of personal development and coaching, resulting in me quitting smoking, losing 35 kilograms, and changing my pessimistic attitude about Life. That was just the beginning…

Even though I hit every goal I wanted, I was still unsatisfied with the state of affairs and was asking myself ‘Why am I still unhappy?’ ‘Where is the satisfaction in that?’
In 2016 I’ve started exploring the idea of meditation and spirituality, exploring these themes in books and YouTube. That led to a massive shift in my Understanding of Life.

In August 2016, I experienced a sudden, radical spiritual transformation that shifted my perspective. I realized Unity. I have forever changed my perspective – Nightmare was no more, lucid Dreaming began. For the first time in my Life, I saw the Universe and Reality as it is. The illusion was dropped.

That shift sent me on a journey through the ups and downs of every available form of spirituality that deeply reconstructed my sense of Self.

After all these years of searching, rebelling, transcending, acquiring new beliefs and dropping them, my Understanding settled on an idea of true simultaneity: living in a beautiful Dream-World we currently call Earth, yet knowing it’s source lies in Formless Chaos, and ultimately, beyond even that, in the Mysterious, Timeless, Absolute Reality.

In 2018 I moved to Japan, where I explored myself within and Tokyo without, for about 10 months. In March 2019, I discovered a job opportunity in Osaka’s International School, Creative Learning Academy, where I’ve had an immense pleasure of meeting its owner, Walker, who became a source of inspiration by following his Purpose and creating Life of his Dreams. That pure Passion and Creativity became a catalyst for my Sharing and aligning with my Purpose.

Life stopped being just about the ego of Adam and is now fully dedicated toward Service to Others. With your permission, through the power of your Desire and your Passion toward Life – I will support and serve you by Sharing my Experience.

I wanted to give people the method that worked for me when getting what I wanted from my life experience. I came up with the idea a long time ago, but only now I actually came up with the name for the process which is “Dream-Weaving”, as it is literally weaving your dreams, one strand at the time. 🙂

Do you have any unusual writing habits?
When I wrote my first book I did a creative writing type of challenge where I set a timer for 1 hour and I just wrote everything that came to my head, without filtering!
Also, any thought I had during the day connected to the material – I wrote it down in my notes.

What authors, or books have influenced you?
Abraham Hicks, Jane Roberts, Jed McKenna, Osho, Eckart Tolle, Law of One by Ra, Mooji, Bentinho Massaro, Napoleon Hill, Lao Tzu

What are you working on now?
Growing Apocalyptan by increasing its reach!
I am also planning to write next book and a workbook for the Dream-Weaving process.

What is your best method or website when it comes to promoting your books?
Writing more and sharing it with people without expectations.

Do you have any advice for new authors?
Just start writing – anything. Consistency is key. Stop filtering thoughts. Let it flow and worry about editing later. Be 80% effective, not a perfectionist.

Follow your passion to the best of your ability without expectation of a certain outcome. – Bashar

What are you reading now?
I am in a writing mode – I stopped reading anything for now. 🙂

What’s next for you as a writer?
Writing more books, releasing more free content for people, and adding value in their quest for getting what they want from their life experience.

If you were going to be stranded on a desert island and allowed to take 3 or 4 books with you what books would you bring?
Bible as it’s pretty long, and probably holds a lot of nuggets,
Ask and it is Given by Abraham Hicks,
Dante’s Divine Comedy as I’ve never read it…
and some good survival guide. 😉
